Hello Potential Graduates!  
As you make post-secondary plans, we encourage you to investigate scholarship and bursary opportunities to help fund your future education.

To help with your research for scholarships, students can go to the websites of the schools to which they apply or go to https://yconic.com/ , https://www.scholarshipscanada.com/ , or https://scholartree.ca/.   

Students should also take note of the following scholarship applications offered through community groups and available in Student Services: 

  • K. Bruce Andrews Scholarships – The KBruce Andrews Scholarship is an award that recognizes students who have demonstrated exemplary leadership through significant contributions to their community, school athletics, and academics. Students with financial need may receive additional consideration.  This year there will be two scholarships valued $5 000 each.   Students who are interested in applying for the KBruce Andrews Scholarship should check their school emails for the application forms which were emailed out to all potential graduates on May 9th.  If you have any questions about the award, please email Mr. Dan Hickey directly at [email protected] .  Please note the absolute deadline for submitting your application is May 31th at 2:30 pm. 
  • Royal Canadian Legion Branch 240 Bursaries and the Violet Green Memorial Bursary – Application for scholarships awarded by the Almonte’s branch of the Royal Canadian Legion are now available in Student Services.  All students may apply but preference will be given to students who have, or have had, a member of their family as a legion member. The deadline for the applications is June 13th, 2023.  Applications can be returned to Ms. Brown or emailed to Brenda Logan at: [email protected] .     
  • Heritage Fitness –This scholarship is awarded to encourage and support local youth as they pursue studies at college, university or in the trades.  It is $1000 scholarship offered by Heritage Fitness of Carleton Place. Ms. Brown emailed all graduates a copy of the application on April 29th but you can also find a copy of the application at the Heritage Fitness website link: http://heritagefitness.ca/scholarship-program/ .  The application deadline is May 15th. Scholarship applications can be returned to Ms. Brown or Susan Benoit (General Manager) of Heritage Fitness directly:  [email protected] . 
  • R. Tait McKenzie Scholarship Awards – The R. Tait McKenzie finalists have been selected.  Congratulations go out to: Jenna Acheson, Talia Bent, Giulia Falco, Lucy MacLaren, Becca Potter, Bryn Swrjeski, and Ava Webb. Finalists are reminded that their reference letters are due to Ms. Brown by 2:30 pm Thursday, May 25th.  The award presentations will occur on the evening of June 6th. All are welcome to attend and celebrate these exceptional young people.  
  • Association of Justices of the Peace of Ontario (AJPO) Bursaries for Grade 12 Students Pursuing Studies Towards a Career in Law – Bursaries are available to grade 12 students in Ontario pursuing post-secondary studies related to many careers in the justice system at Ontario institutions.  These bursaries were created to assist students who demonstrate academic excellence and commitment to their studies and who are in financial need.  Deadline is May 26th.  Please see: Bursaries for Grade 12 Students Pursuing Studies Toward a Career in Law (ojen.ca)   
  • Lincoln M. Alexander Award - Recognizes young people who have shown strong leadership in eliminating racial discrimination. Three awards are given out each year: Two Student Awards and one Community Award.  Deadline is May 31st.  Please see: Honours and awards: inclusion | ontario.ca . 
  • The Public Property Assessment Network Scholarship Eastern Region – This scholarship is presented on behalf of the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association to students entering the skilled trades either through post-secondary programs or through an apprenticeship program in Ontario.  Preference is given to students in good standing, who have contributed to the life of the school and community, and who demonstrate financial need.  The deadline for submission is May 19th, 2023.  More information about the application process can be found at: 22-23PPANTemplate-Scholarship-Eastern-Region.pdf (opsba.org)
